From pumpkin carving, tons of micro brews, art exhibits, and the start of the Broncos football season, you’ll find plenty to celebrate the fall season while getting in touch with the culture of life in the Rockies. Taste one of Colorado’s famous brews, find a new favorite local artist, and maybe even have a fright or two in a haunted house as you find out what fall offers in the 303!
10. Denver Art Week
When: November 1st-9th | Where: Denver Area Museums
Explore the mile high art scene during Denver Art Week. Stroll the exhibits of the museums with free admission and late night hours. Get inspiration for your fall wardrobe at Denver Fashion Week, mingle with artists and fellow art lovers, and maybe even take home a new statement piece for your home!
9. FORToberfest
When: September 21st | Where: Old Town Square, Fort Collins.
Head up north to FoCo for a day of fall festivities at FORToberfest. Grab one of BIG Meat Wagon’s Famous Gourmet Grilled Cheeses, Nachos, or Beer Brats. Sip on a fall-themed seasonal draft from a micro brewery and head to the stage to dance along to a local band like Crescent City Connection. Experience the charm of the old college town just an hour north of Denver!
8. Denver Film Festival
When: October 30th-November 10th | Where: Denver Film Center.
Grab some popcorn and attend a premiere at the Denver Film Festival. Showing a range of films from those featured on the international film festival circuit to local Denver filmmakers, this festival has you experiencing the magic of the silver screen. Think you are the next Speilberg? Submit your film to be featured on the big screen!
7. Oktoberfest Denver
When: September 20th-22nd, 27th-29th | Where: Larimer Street
For 50 years Denver has gathered to celebrate all things Bavaria to kick off the fall season. Grab a stein in the beer hall or chow down on a German staple like schnitzel or a bratwurst. Throw on your best dirndl and lederhosen to win the costume contest, test your strength at Stein hoisting, or grab a pair of headphones for the silent disco. With all the fun and beer, you’ll forget you aren’t actually in Munich.
6. Applefest
When: October 3rd-6th | Where: Cedaredge
Okay, so this one is not actually on the front range…but Applefest will be definitely be worth a weekend away from the 303! Listen to live music, dig into an apple pie, and stroll the more than 250 vendors that attend the festival. Plus, you’ll be able to catch a glimpse of the golden fall colors in the Rockies on your way there!
5. Downtown Boulder’s Fall Fest

When: September 13th-15th | Where: Pearl Street Mall
Make the drive to experience fall in the shadows of the Flatirons! Stroll through Boulder’s Fall Fest where you can jam out to local bands like Chris Daniels and the Kings and Funkiphino, shop the Firefly Handmade Market, and try a seasonal brew from the beer garden. After exploring the festival, take a hike to enjoy the fall foliage in Chautauqua Park.
4. Great American Beer Festival
When: October 3rd-5th | Where: Colorado Convention Center
Find your new favorite micro-brew at the Great American Beer Festival! Brining in fellow craft beer fans and hundreds of breweries, this festival will have you testing your tastebuds and enjoying other fall fun like live music and games. Stick around to see who hops their way to the title of Brewery of the Year!
3. 13th Floor Haunted House
When: September 13th- November 9th | Where: 3400 E. 52nd AVE., Denver, CO
Find frights at Denver’s 13th Floor Haunted House. Take your pick of horrifying halls from attractions like Clown, Tales of the Unknown, and The Other Side. Once you have made it out alive, find your way out of the Mini Escape Games or sit back and relax by grabbing a drink at the Shriekeasy Bar.
2. Pumpkin Festival
When: October 11th-13th | Where: Denver Botanic Gardens- Chatfield Farms
Boasting a 10-acre pumpkin patch you’ll find the perfect jack-o-lantern at Denver Botanic Gardens Pumpkin Patch at Chatfield Farms. Grab a bite at the food trucks and delight little ones with pony rides and festival games. Drop your pumpkin off before getting lost in the corn maze just next door!
1. Taste of the Broncos
When: September 16th | Where: Mile High Stadium
Grab a bite while supporting the Food Bank of the Rockies and Denver Bronco Charities at Mile High! Stroll the booths, snack on tasty samples from local restaurants and enjoy live entertainment. Kick off football season with an afternoon snacking and giving back to the community in the home of the Broncos!
